US President Donald Trump has launched an extraordinary attack on a female news anchor’s alleged plastic surgery. He said MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” during a visit to his Florida golf resort Mar-a-Lago. He also referred to Brzezinski’s co-host, former Republican US congressman Joe Scarborough, as “Psycho Joe”.
Mr Trump’s invective threatened to further erode his support from Republican women and independents, both among voters and on Capitol Hill, where he needs negotiating leverage for the stalled Senate health care bill.
Donald Trump, it’s often said, sees the world—and human life in general—as a roiling battlefield, and the people within it, consequently, as a collection of Victors and Vanquished who can be easily sorted as such. The political world talked of cooling the rhetoric to avoid such violence, Sanders was quick to respond: “The president in no way, form or fashion has ever encouraged any form of violence.”
Mr Trump is known for his prolific Twitter habit, which includes mocking attacks on critics and rivals, but his tweets on Thursday drew a particularly strong response.
“It’s a sad day for America when the President spends his time bullying, lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job,” MSNBC’s communications office said on Twitter.
Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough said in January he and Brzezinski were at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., in late December to try to set up an interview with then-President-elect Trump.
“Nothing that Mika and I did in setting up this meeting was any different than what all good reporters and news hosts try to do daily,” Scarborough tweeted in January after media reports suggested he partied with Trump on New Year’s Eve.
Brzezinski described “Outnumbered” as a program where “all these people with long legs and short skirts talk about how people feel about the news.”
Scarborough continued: “They had like 30 women or something and like one guy in the middle and its called ‘Outnumbered.’ Yesterday it was poor Eric Bolling and he was wonderful.”
The president is notoriously sensitive about the size of his hands, so much so that he assured the American people there was “no problem” in that regard during a televised presidential debate.
It’s not hard to digest that even after thousands of years of civilization, there are areas in which instead of going forward, we’ve gone backwards. Our thinking is one, many historians and historical literatures suggest that women then had a much better situation than today.
We’ve curated some of the areas in which women flourished then more than today!
It can be a bit harder for some scholars, colleges, and institutions but these facts are verified. We’ve put in a great deal of effort to verify the authenticity of these facts.
